About the role
To process and stock quality merchandise on shelves and displays in a careful, clean, neat, and expedient manner. Ensure a variety of product is fresh and appealingly displayed for customers while maintaining excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner.
- Stock product and displays, ensuring proper grading, rotating, crisping, trimming, wrapping, watering, and adherence to company sanitation practices and product code dates (first in, first out).
- Fill and build displays; ensure product is priced accurately.
- Assist in checking and verifying produce department receiving when required.
- Receive, unload, and put away daily loads from delivery; store product in designated areas to protect quality.
- Be knowledgeable about produce merchandise, including taste, preparation, use, and price differences between varieties (e.g., types of apples, potatoes).
- Offer product suggestions to customers.
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and observe company dress code.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
- Practice the “Cleaner’s Creed” and proper sanitation procedures.
- Process merchandise according to production guidelines and handle damaged/spoiled products per company policy.
- Keep back room, cooler, freezer, fans, drains, and display cases organized, clean, and monitor correct temperatures; report refrigeration failures immediately.
- Keep work area swept clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards; report hazards immediately.
- Exercise safe practices when lifting/moving product and cleaning department equipment/tools.
- Occasionally assist the front end with bagging during busy times.
- Restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain low supply costs.
- Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, or property defacement.
- Complete onboarding/e-learnings and checklist within 30 days of hire.
- Commit to the “Golden Rule” and work in a Respectful, Supportive, and Totally Team-Oriented (RSTO) style to build a strong produce team.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Ability to work at multiple store locations as needed.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, with the ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work a schedule based on business needs.
- Authorized to work within the U.S.

Pay
The hiring range for this position is $15.00 - $17.90 per hour.
