Produce Clerk

About the role

Does collaborating with a team to deliver the finest produce presentation sound exciting? As a Produce Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will handle, prepare, and merchandise farm-fresh produce to ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. You’ll work in a fast-paced, friendly environment, helping customers make healthy choices while maintaining product freshness and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Stock, face, fill, and organize the Produce department according to schematics, ensuring tag and pricing accuracy.
• Properly stock and rotate merchandise, including trimming, watering, and merchandising products to maintain fresh, high-quality offerings.
• Ensure inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability.
• Answer customer questions in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Perform repetitious activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday, lifting and maneuvering heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) without mechanical assistance.
• Maneuver utility carts holding up to 20 lbs. (requiring force up to 35 lbs.) for distances up to 20 feet.
• Walk up to 5 miles in an 8-hour shift.
• Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from:

• Using a knife (other than safety cutters).
• Using a ladder.
• Operating garbage or cardboard compactors.
• Operating motor/electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks).
• Working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrate mutual respect for others and uphold Sprouts’ culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills.
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Perform repetitious activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday, with the ability to lift, stack, and maneuver heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) without mechanical assistance.
