About the role

Join our team as a Produce Clerk, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining stock levels, providing exceptional customer service, and upholding our high standards of care for fresh, nutritious produce. Our produce is delivered fresh daily to ensure guests receive the freshest, longest-lasting, and most nutrient-packed fruits and vegetables.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Guests: Provide outstanding customer service in-person and via phone by assisting guests in finding items, taking orders and special requests, and addressing concerns.
• Maintain Stock Levels: Ensure all items are well-stocked and displayed according to company standards. Rotate products using the first-in, first-out method to ensure freshness.
• Ensure Cleanliness & Food Safety: Keep the sales floor and cooler clean, organized, and free of spills. Regularly log temperatures of produce items and complete rotation sheets and shrink recording daily.
• Maintain Supplies & Produce Cooler: Ensure produce supplies such as roll bags and twist ties are well-stocked. Rotate items within the cooler using the first-in, first-out method. Order specific products such as dips, spices, and herbs as needed.
• Teamwork: Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
• Honor Commitments: Maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule and provide adequate notice for occasional absences.

Requirements

• Customer Service Skills: Ability to engage with guests and provide outstanding service.
• Communication: Good oral and written communication skills.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies. Apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible hazards, and utilize equipment such as trash compactors, balers, and slicers.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with the retail food business and perishable department operations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Full range of upper body motion.
• Ability to work at a fast pace.
• May be exposed to extreme temperatures.

Schedule

This is a part-time position, scheduled for 28 hours a week or less. Shifts will vary and may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Availability needed to be considered: 4pm-8pm weekdays and open availability on Saturday and/or Sunday.
