Team: X63 – Columbia Class Production Control. Entity: Newport News Shipbuilding. Full‑Time, 1st shift. US citizenship required. No relocation assistance, no telework, no travel, and no security clearance required.

About the Role

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production needs. Advises management on work‑in‑progress status, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Schedule equipment and personnel, confirm material supply and demand.
• Prepare work orders or purchase requests for components or parts based on the master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.
• Schedule and expedite the movement of parts via move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; or Master’s Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience.
• Equivalent qualifications may include:
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate’s Degree plus 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non‑exempt experience
  • Military paygrade E‑5 or above
  • High School/GED plus 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military, or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED plus 8 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military, or other relevant non‑exempt experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to network scheduling techniques is highly preferred.

Pay

Salary range: $63,000 – $79,000 (estimated base pay; final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and other factors).
