Procurement Specialist – Salt Lake City, UT

About the Role

As a Procurement Specialist, you will manage the procurement and inventory of spare parts and warranty materials for Stadler. This role involves negotiating stocking levels with suppliers, issuing purchase orders, monitoring pricing and lead times, coordinating with project management teams, and ensuring quality assurance and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and achieve agreement on consignment stocking levels between suppliers and Stadler's Warranty Manager.
• Execute purchase orders for all materials related to warranty, first-aid kits, or spares.
• Ensure suppliers confirm all ordered items.
• Monitor suppliers to maintain contractually agreed pricing levels.
• Learn and utilize supplier lead times to manage material ordering and meet deadlines.
• Communicate with Project Management Teams regarding the status of warranty-material milestones.
• Handle confidential and proprietary information with care.
• Understand and adhere to suppliers' contractual obligations related to warranty and spare parts.
• Continuously optimize and develop process flows.
• Ensure quality assurance within the area of responsibility.
• Perform other relevant duties as applicable.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous procurement experience.
• Proficiency in manipulating Excel files.
• Reliable, flexible, and motivated self-starter.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to adapt to new situations and challenges.
• Clear and professional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Contract negotiation experience is a plus.
