Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages procurement of assigned goods/commodities in agreement with company policies and objectives
  • Manages transactional activities related to the quotation, purchase, and delivery of assigned goods/services
  • Reviews requisitions for accuracy and completeness
  • Continually works to improve data accuracy and system integrity
  • Makes sure to monitor and drive cost reductions across procurement activities without compromising quality. Ensures value-for-money for all purchases.
  • Ensures accurate forecasting, stock levels, and timely deliveries of products and parts to avoid production delays
  • Manages supplier relationships, analyzes performance, and provides feedback
  • Tracks and analyzes metrics to develop and implement improvement plans
  • Actively pursues supply-base rationalization
  • Manages issue resolution regarding defective material returns, corrective action requests, and invoicing
  • Supports engineering change notices

Supplier Management

  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal customers to identify and address needs and develop improvement opportunities
  • Works with various departments to support projects and new product introductions
  • Manages supplier relationships, analyzes performance, and provides feedback
  • Tracks and analyzes metrics to develop and implement improvement plans
  • Acts as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Supports supply-base rationalization efforts

Other Duties

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years purchasing/supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment, 5 years preferred
  • MRP experience, SAP preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree; or one to two year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making

  • Office Setting
  • Choice of sitting or standing or alternating between them (stand-up desk optional)
  • Keyboarding/typing on a computer for extended periods of time
  • Moderate noise, i.e., phones, printer, light foot traffic
  • Medium noise, i.e., manufacturing facility with machinery operating on factory floor with heavy traffic
