What We Need Symbotic is seeking a highly motivated Buyer (Bots) to join our Supply Chain organization. This role will support the procurement and execution of complex robotic systems and components through key manufacturing and supply partners. The ideal candidate brings strong supplier management, analytical, and problem-solving skills and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This individual will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure material availability, resolve supply issues, execute purchase orders, manage changes, and support cost and delivery objectives. We own strategic sourcing and supplier agreements end-to-end — from commercial and pricing structures through supplier relationship management — while our sourcing operations ensure disciplined execution at scale. Our scope spans the full lifecycle{{:}} procuring robotics, structural, and automation components at the core of our systems, sourcing third-party partners for installation and deployment, and ensuring robust aftersales support once systems are live — all in service of Symbotic's commitment to reimagining the supply chain and transforming the movement of goods through intelligent automation, while bringing unparalleled value to the customer. What You’ll Do Manage day-to-day purchasing activities for robotic systems, components, and related materials across a complex supplier base. Work closely with contract manufacturers and key suppliers to manage order execution, material availability, capacity, and delivery performance. Partner with Planning, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Strategic Sourcing to align supply requirements with production and project needs. Monitor supplier performance and provide timely visibility into material status, shortages, delivery risks, and recovery plans. Expedite critical materials and drive suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, pricing, and capacity issues. Support supplier negotiations, cost-reduction initiatives, and commercial discussions in partnership with sourcing and category leadership. Manage purchasing impacts associated with engineering changes, demand changes, and evolving program requirements. Identify supply risks and escalate issues early while working across internal and external stakeholders to drive resolution. Analyze purchasing and supplier data to identify opportunities to improve cost, delivery, inventory, and overall supplier performance. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related function. Experience working with complex suppliers, contract manufacturers, or outsourced manufacturing partners. Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and purchase order management; SAP experience strongly preferred. Experience managing material requirements, supplier delivery schedules, shortages, and order changes. Strong supplier management, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively across Engineering, Planning, Operations, Quality, Finance, and other cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience supporting robotics, electronics, electromechanical products, automation equipment, or other complex manufactured products is preferred. Our Environment Up to 10% travel may be required. Employees may be required to use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on the program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued. The base range for this position in the posted location is $71,000.00 - $97,900.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
