Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing: Identify and vet global and local suppliers for paperboard, corrugated materials, inks, and specialized finishes (foils, coatings).
• Cost Management: Negotiate wholesale contracts and pricing agreements to maintain our competitive edge in the custom packaging market.
• Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of various material weights (10pt to 28pt) to prevent production bottlenecks.
• Vendor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with vendors, conducting periodic performance reviews and quality audits.
• Sustainability Lead: Source and verify eco-friendly and FSC-certified materials to meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Production Manager and Sales team to forecast material needs based on upcoming large-scale projects.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the printing, packaging, or manufacturing sectors.
• Negotiation Skills: A proven track record of reducing costs while maintaining or improving product quality.
• Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in Excel and ERP software to track spending, lead times, and inventory turnover.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of paper grades, board types, and the global logistics landscape.
• Communication: Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly to international and domestic suppliers.
