Job Responsibilities

Performs purchasing activities in support of departmental needs, primarily utilizing purchase orders and small purchase methods in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with or ability to learn the SC Consolidated Procurement Code as it relates to routine purchasing activities.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities including:
    • Ability to collect, compile and assemble information in a clear and concise manner;
    • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships;
    • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures to day-to-day transactions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Familiarity with or ability to learn the SC Consolidated Procurement Code as it relates to routine purchasing activities.
  • Basic knowledge of procurement processes, including quote solicitation and purchase order issuance.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and present information clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and financial/procurement systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships; and to communicate effectively with department personnel and general public.

Skills

  • Ability to present ideas effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize and maintain data effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external vendors.

Pay

The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience.
