About the role
Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located in Hamilton, Washington State. We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Purchase materials, supplies, equipment and services used by Janicki Industries
- Meet cost, quality and delivery goals and provide the highest levels of customer service
- Closely coordinate with the Materials, Operations, Engineering and Quality functions to ensure Suppliers meet or exceed Janicki Industries Quality and Delivery Objectives
- Manage and plan inventory levels
- Evaluate supplier production capacity, equipment capability, workforce availability, and scalability
- Align supplier capacity with forecasted demand and fabrication schedules
- Conduct regular capacity reviews with key suppliers to identify constraints and growth limitations
- Audit supplier technical capabilities relative to fabrication requirements
- Participate in make-vs-buy analysis with consideration of supplier capacity and internal workload
- Generate purchase orders, maintain data and coordinate payment in ERP system
- Provide outstanding levels of customer service
- Interface with the Materials and Operations teams to manage and plan inventory levels
- Interface with the Quality team to manage supplier quality issues
- Support negotiations to obtain best prices and terms for materials and services
- Ensure processes comply with AS9100 quality requirements
- Ensure contract terms are adhered to and deliverables met
- Interface with internal customers on supplier issues
- Manage significant bid packages from inception to contract award to maximize total value
- Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
- Maintain good attendance
Qualifications
- Relevant 4-year degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience purchasing materials, supplies, equipment and/or services on a supply chain team
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations/management
- Experience in an ISO or AS quality management system
- Experience working in an ERP/PDM environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Willingness and ability to obtain a government issued security clearance
Additional Information
- Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program
- Salary range for this role is between $89,000 - $115,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits
