About the role

We’re looking for a dependable Procurement Specialist to support procurement operations through purchasing coordination, supplier management, reporting, and data analysis. This role plays an important part in helping the organization make informed purchasing decisions, maintain supplier relationships, and improve operational efficiency across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit, evaluate, and compare supplier bids to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Generate and manage purchase orders from approved requisitions.
  • Monitor purchase orders through completion to ensure timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve purchase order discrepancies, supplier concerns, and invoice issues.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and support procurement activities from requisition through payment.
  • Create reports and perform data analysis using Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and procurement tools.
  • Support supplier relationship management to support service quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with sourcing activities by gathering, extracting, and analyzing procurement data from multiple systems.
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure contract compliance.
  • Track and report savings methodologies, purchasing metrics, and procurement performance data.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement reports as requested.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth procurement operations.
  • Support additional procurement and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an office, purchasing, procurement, or analytical support role preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; ERP system experience preferred, including JD Edwards.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with strong problem-solving, analytical, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
