About the role
Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing and supply chain industry, is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their team in Maplewood, MN.
Responsibilities
- Leading strategic sourcing and supplier management initiatives supporting Filing & Chemical Services, Third-Party Manufacturing, and Hard Goods categories across the United States and Canada.
- Own assigned procurement categories involving chemical services, third-party manufacturing, filing products, and hard goods suppliers.
- Lead supplier negotiations focused on cost savings, working capital improvements, and long-term value creation.
- Develop and execute category strategies that support procurement savings goals and supply continuity.
- Drive supplier consolidation initiatives to reduce complexity, improve performance, and mitigate supply risk.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and ongoing supplier performance management.
- Identify and implement sourcing solutions involving dual sourcing, supplier optimization, risk mitigation, and supply continuity.
- Analyze procurement data, pricing trends, and market conditions to identify savings opportunities and process improvements.
- Negotiate and manage complex commercial agreements including: Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Consignment programs, Formula-based pricing agreements, Feedstock and index-based pricing, Tier II supplier analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of procurement, sourcing, or category management experience within manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting manufacturing plants, production facilities, or industrial operations.
- 5+ years of supplier negotiations with measurable cost savings achievements.
- Experience negotiating contracts with supplier leadership, account managers, directors, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including cost analysis, pricing evaluation, and contract management.
- Experience using SAP, procurement systems, pricing tools, and business analytics.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
- Preferred Experience:
- Chemical manufacturing procurement.
- Third-party manufacturing or contract manufacturing experience.
- Industrial products, hard goods, or engineered products sourcing.
- Commodity, feedstock, or index-based pricing models.
- Supplier consolidation and working capital initiatives.
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites or business divisions.
Skills

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay Range: $37.00/HR + Benefits
