Responsibilities
- Procure materials, supplies, equipment, and services in accordance with approved procurement policies and contractual requirements
- Review purchase requisitions, plans, drawings, specifications, and scope of work to ensure accurate procurement of required materials and services
- Prepare, issue, and administer purchase orders
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers while maintaining an approved vendor database
- Solicit quotations, negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, terms, and conditions with suppliers
- Develop and maintain productive supplier relationships while monitoring vendor quality, delivery performance, and responsiveness
- Resolve purchasing, delivery, quality, and supplier performance issues
- Analyze purchasing trends and organizational spending to identify cost savings and process improvements
- Maintain procurement documentation and purchasing records
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Mandatory: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or buyer experience
- Experience reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and purchase requirements
- Experience negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain required NASA site access and credentials
- Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing
- Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field
- Experience supporting NASA, Federal, or government contractor environments
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or procurement systems
- Knowledge of government procurement practices and contract requirements
- Professional purchasing certification (CPPB, CPSM, CPSD, or similar)
Qualifications
- Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the workday as needed

- Collaborative relationships with internal customers, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Identification of opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier performance, and operational efficiency

Pay
Compensation for this role will be determined based on factors including job responsibilities, experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and applicable contract requirements. Where required by law, compensation ranges will be provided to candidates during the hiring process.
Schedule
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with frequent interaction with suppliers, customers, Finance, Operations, and project personnel. Occasional visits to warehouse or operational areas may be required.
