Procurement Specialist

About the role

Peaden Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role supports our operations by ensuring materials are available when needed, all while maintaining cost efficiency and inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials, equipment, tools, and supplies for multiple departments
• Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing when appropriate
• Create and manage purchase orders
• Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock before shortages occur
• Cook deliveries with vendors and warehouse personnel
• Coordinate deliveries with vendors and warehouse personnel
• Track orders and resolve shipping delays or discrepancies
• Compare pricing, quality, and lead times across suppliers
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
• Work closely with department managers to forecast purchasing needs
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality
• Affirm purchasing complies with company policies and budgets
• Affirm assistance with warranty claims and vendor returns
• Affirm assist with special purchasing projects as assigned

Requirements

• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience preferred
• Experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Construction, Manufacturing, or Distribution is a plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• High attention to detail
• Self-motivated with strong follow-through
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and purchasing software
• ERP or inventory management system experience preferred

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field (preferred but not required)
• Purchasing or inventory management certification is a plus
• Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical materials is highly desirable
