Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to make sure they comply with relevant laws, regulations, LANL policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible for simple fixed price purchase orders and subcontract formation and management, including soliciting, negotiating, and administering for commercial goods and services.
  • Conduct research to support contract audits.
  • Use source lists and conduct simple market queries for additional sources.
  • Partner with customer organizations in the identification and screening of potential suppliers capable of meeting Laboratory requirements for impending requirements.
  • Partner with the Laboratory's Small Business Office in the identification and development of small business sources.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of business or legal concepts.
  • Demonstrated willingness to accept responsibility for all activities and work products associated with assigned work.
  • Demonstrated ability to act independently on assigned work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contracting concepts, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), applicable international contract law, or public contract acquisition law and regulations.
  • Demonstrated potential to work with confidential or proprietary information, classified documents or sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated potential to exercise procurement/signature authority on behalf of an organization for up to $50,000.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with both internal and external customers of varying professional levels in written and oral communication.
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.

Education/Experience

  • Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related degree from an accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of LANL procurement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with numerous deadlines and expectations.
  • Recent hands-on experience in Federal Subcontract management.
  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and their application.
