Procurement Manager
Accountabilities
The Procurement Manager will lead procurement activities supporting utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects, ensuring competitive sourcing, strong supplier partnerships, and successful contract execution.
This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, technical understanding, and commercial expertise to optimize procurement outcomes.
Lead sourcing activities for battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar equipment, and related technologies, including market analysis, RFP creation, supplier evaluation, and contract execution.
Develop and implement procurement strategies focused on cost optimization, technical requirements, delivery performance, supplier reliability, and risk management.
Manage complex equipment supply agreements covering commercial terms, logistics, quality requirements, warranties, and payment structures.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers while acting as a subject matter expert on supply markets.
Lead negotiations involving technical and commercial agreements, identifying solutions that support successful deal execution.
Collaborate with engineering, construction, legal, development, finance, and other internal teams to align procurement decisions with project objectives.
Support project transactions, including acquisitions, financings, divestitures, and related commercial agreements.
Drive procurement process improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, cost control, and supply chain resilience.
Provide procurement insights and recommendations to support business planning, development strategies, and long-term supply chain positioning.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in renewable energy, complex sourcing environments, and supplier management.
They should combine technical knowledge, negotiation skills, and the ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial and evolving industry.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive procurement experience focused on sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
At least 3 years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy, high-voltage procurement, thermal procurement, or similar infrastructure environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Strong understanding of equipment specifications, technical requirements, performance considerations, and supplier evaluation processes.
Experience supporting the execution of EPC agreements, supply contracts, and complex commercial transactions.
Knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy development, U.S. power markets, transmission interconnection, and renewable project economics.
Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
