Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the procurement of direct materials (blanks, components, and raw materials) based on Oracle MRP data, indirect products, services, capital equipment, and facilities for the Optical Solutions Division totaling over $50M.
- Responsible for all procurement metrics, including cost savings.
- Manage Tier 1 supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality RPPM, and supplier score cards.
- Oversee all Master Supply Agreements.
- Manage new supplier qualification process, along with quality assurance and engineering.
- Lead ERP procurement system development and training.
- Certify ISO 9001 Clause 8.4 Control of Externally Provided Processes, Products and Services.
- Manage procurement, receiving, issuing, and returning precious metals for refining.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, ITAR, Trade Compliance, and Supplier Diversity regulations.
- Attend and present at all required meetings.
- Coordinate Saxonburg supplier visits to negotiate pricing, review performance, and to keep informed of pricing and lead-time trends as well as new products.
- Visit supplier facilities as required.
- Support Corporate Purchasing for any projects as required.
- Manage the procurement department, including supervision of the IR Buyers, annual reviews, and regular check-in meetings.
- Assign responsibilities and balance the workload for the buyers.
- Develop and maintain a documented training program for the procurement department.
- Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, and forms for the procurement department.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or an equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 10 years purchasing experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment that utilizes an ERP system, Oracle preferred.
- Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

- Experienced with procurement processes that include quoting, price negotiation, issuing purchase orders, expediting, and contract writing.
- Ability to maintain current market information for commodities of responsibility to ensure that Coherent's prices remain competitive.
- Experience in Supplier Development, Supplier Relationship Management, and Supplier negotiations.
- Adhere to policies and develop best practices to achieve efficiencies and cost reduction.
