Procurement Engineer- PEPS
About the role
Procures professional engineering contracts for the El Paso and Odessa Districts. Reviews contract management documents and provides assistance to district Project Managers.
Responsibilities
- Develops contracting strategies and directs the procurement, administration and communication processes for professional services contracts
- Leads the consultant selection teams and ensures proper consultancy process; oversees and coordinates projects and program activities
- Negotiates job classifications and level of effort requirements with professional agencies
- Oversee and direct the processing and review of consultant selection documentation, contracts and associated documents
- Covers activities for PEPS Service Center staff related to training, procurement rule changes, quality control, and special project assignments
- Develops professional service budgets
- Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science bachelor's or higher degree accepted by TX PELS
- Experience: 6 years of experience in engineering, procurement engineering or related engineering experience
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle. TX Licensed Professional Engineer*
