About the role

Rice & Gardner, a subsidiary of Project Control and Raba Kistner, is a program and project management firm dedicated to building a better and more sustainable world. We are seeking an experienced Procurement Coordinator to join our team in the Houston, TX area. This role assists with the procurement and installation functions of FFE (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment), maintenance and operations equipment, technology, and other items related to the construction of new and remodeled facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning and creation of Furniture, Fixture, and Equipment as needed.
  • Assist with maintenance of current vendor list and catalog resources.
  • Prepare and finalize requisitions for the timely order of goods and services.
  • Identify sources to obtain competitive prices and terms.
  • Maintain files on FF&E items ordered.
  • Create installation directives for contract installation.
  • Assist with reconciliation of vendor problems, including billing disputes and warranty service issues.
  • Assist clients in accessing warranty repair services when applicable.
  • Work closely with program representatives to help ensure equity and promote positive relationships with schools, departments, vendors, and the community.
  • Monitor assembly and installation of furniture at facilities, which may occur on weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including assisting project managers during design, construction, and project closeout activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Certification.
  • 40 credited college hours or 4 years of experience in school business, governmental accounting, construction management, or a combination thereof.
  • Possess a current valid state-issued driver’s license and meet the company's auto insurability requirements.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information both written and oral, and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, the general public, and other employees.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Frequently required to use hands and reach.
  • Occasionally required to climb and stoop.
  • Regularly required to talk.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, focus vision, and depth vision.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Schedule

This position may require protracted or irregular hours, including weekends, due to client needs. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary.
