About the role
The Procurement Associate-Journeyman will support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment. This role requires absolute attention to detail, as minor errors can have significant operational and contractual impacts. The position involves navigating complex procurement regulations, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and managing urgent deadlines to support critical defense initiatives. Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and precision are essential in this high-pressure environment where efficiency and compliance are equally paramount.
The salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $75,000.00, commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required in California, Maryland, or Patuxent River, Maryland.
Responsibilities
- Communicates with management and vendors regarding order status and purchasing packages
- Accepts and receives packages delivered in CostPoint
- Writes purchase orders and prepares high-dollar purchasing packages
- Tracks available funding for contracts
- Answers designated phone lines and performs other procurement duties as required
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement
- Experience working with Deltek Costpoint
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, etc.)
- Experience processing/tracking high volumes of purchase orders
- Experience with shipping/receiving or inventory coordination
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written communication and customer service skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements as necessary for the contract

Physical Environment and Working Conditions
The role primarily involves working in an office environment, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk while using a computer for most of the workday. The employee has discretion over sitting, walking, or standing and may occasionally travel short distances to offices or conference rooms on-site. Rare overnight travel may be required.
