Process & Utility Piping Laborer - Newport, KY

EGC Construction, an operating unit of Messer Construction Co., is seeking a Process and Utility Piping Laborer. The company employs more than 120 skilled craft workers and provides general, commercial, and industrial construction services, including electrical work, millwrights, pipe fitters, and structural steel detailing. Headquartered in Newport, Kentucky, EGC has served local, regional, and international clients since 1978 and has received national safety awards for its performance.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety and follow safety practices on all assigned tasks.
• Provide labor work needed for specific job sites in a positive, efficient, and timely manner.
• Perform general and final cleanup on job sites for projects.
• Distribute and clean up power hand‑tools and extension cords.
• Learn the piping trade and assist as needed.
• Attend meetings and prepare all necessary daily documentation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation.
• Familiarity with basic tools.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
• Proficient math skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to work within a 50‑mile radius; willingness to travel to other states is a plus.
• Ability to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions.
• Commitment to EGC’s Substance Abuse Prevention Policy and to passing a post‑offer/pre‑employment drug screen.
