Day shift, biweekly schedule: 4:50 AM – 5:00 PM on a 2-2-3 rotation (36 hours Week 1, 48 hours Week 2).
About the role
Responsible for monitoring and operating processing equipment and ensuring production quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Constantly monitor and control plant operations to carry out the established operations plan, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Physically monitor process temperatures, pressures, material flows, and levels to evaluate process operations.
- Complete sanitation work of assigned areas.
- Receive and inspect incoming raw materials, process aids, and packaging materials relevant to the department.
- Take samples of products, analyze quality, and record resulting test data.
- Maintain logs of instrument readings observed during hourly rounds.
- Make necessary physical adjustments to meet desired operating parameters.
- Notify Supervisor or Management of operational or food-safety concerns.
- Assist all other employees and departments as required for efficient plant operation.
- Communicate regularly with all necessary personnel to ensure efficient plant operation.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and safety requirements.
- Provide a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a manufacturing-related field (preferred).
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of the manufacturing industry.
- Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Professional manner in dealing with other departments to maintain constructive working relationships under all circumstances.
- Effective communication with co-workers and management.
- Consistent attendance habits.
- Compliance with all relevant SOPs, company safety, quality, environmental, and HR policies.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Pay
$24.00 per hour.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequently required to walk, sit, stand, bend, use stairs and ladders, kneel, lift objects of 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- At times may be confined or harnessed.
- Able to work at heights up to and including 225 feet.
- Operate in an office and production environment.
- Production environment may include frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat or cold; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
- Potential exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals; ability to wear a respirator is required.
