Process Technician

About the role

Roberts PolyPro is seeking an experienced Plastics Process Technician to join our team. This position works collaboratively with machine operators, process engineers, and maintenance personnel to keep production machines and processes running efficiently and within the expected schedule.

Responsibilities

• Completing tooling changeovers
• Starting up equipment
• Making minor mechanical and electrical repairs
• Making process adjustments
• Verifying quality finished goods are being made
• Acting as the shift technical expert in setting up and running sheet extrusion and injection molding equipment
• Performing timely startups and shutdowns to maximize productivity and reduce unnecessary downtime
• Following standard processes and making adjustments when necessary
• Troubleshooting and making minor mechanical and electrical repairs to equipment
• Performing basic machine maintenance tasks
• Conducting periodic safety checks and involving the team in identifying and resolving unsafe conditions
• Working with machine operators and quality technicians to monitor and inspect the quality of finished goods
• Effectively communicating with other manufacturing personnel to meet production objectives and company goals
• Identifying process bottlenecks and devising solutions to resolve and communicate suggested changes
• Maintaining accurate documentation of processes and operating procedures
• Providing support to production, operations, and engineering to maintain, evaluate, and improve processes
• Recommend changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy, and raw materials

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a plastics manufacturing environment
• Diverse technical background in plastics processing, tooling, equipment, materials, manufacturing, and quality
• Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems and components
• Dedication to maintaining a safe work environment and using safe manufacturing practices
• Strong problem-solving ability and communication skills
• A positive, proactive attitude that is both collaborative and team-oriented with a strong work ethic
• Ability to learn and effectively operate the production equipment with complete understanding of all processes
• Set and manage multiple priorities
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Pay

Schedule

This position is working 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, from 10:30pm - 7:00am.
