Process Technician

Position Purpose

Responsible for injection mold changes, startup of new jobs, troubleshooting and resolving process problems, and optimizing machine cycles.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs the startup and processing of jobs.
• Accountable for pulling and setting molds.
• Verify process parameters for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and maintain equipment to established criteria.
• Process, troubleshoot and remedy solutions that do not meet specifications, non-conformities, and material issues.
• Ensure that the end of run process clearances have correctly taken place.
• Robot set up (at certain locations).
• Verify machines are operating according to standard cycles, allowable scrap, work instructions and quality plan.
• Ensure proper housekeeping.
• Follow all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices.

Job Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma/general education degree (GED)
• 3 years plastic injection process technician experience or RJG Master Molder Certificate
• Read and interpret documents, i.e. blueprints, drawings, operating instructions, workorders, and procedural manuals
• Forklift and crane experience preferred and/or able to obtain certifications within 30-days
• Math comprehension to add, subtract and multiply and divide whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Able to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English
• Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment
