Position Purpose
Responsible for injection mold changes, startup of new jobs, troubleshooting and resolving process problems, and optimizing machine cycles.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs the startup and processing of jobs.
- Accountable for pulling and setting molds.
- Verify process parameters for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and maintain equipment to established criteria.
- Process, troubleshoot and remedy solutions that do not meet specifications, non-conformities, and material issues.
- Ensure that the end of run process clearances have correctly taken place.
- Robot set up (at certain locations).
- Verify machines are operating according to standard cycles, allowable scrap, work instructions and quality plan.
- Ensure proper housekeeping.
- Follow all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- High School Diploma/general education degree (GED)
- 3 years plastic injection process technician experience or RJG Master Molder Certificate
- Read and interpret documents, i.e. blueprints, drawings, operating instructions, workorders, and procedural manuals
- Forklift and crane experience preferred and/or able to obtain certifications within 30-days
- Math comprehension to add, subtract and multiply and divide whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Able to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English
- Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment
