Process Technician
Essential Functions
- Operate machine(s) start up and shutdowns, perform machine adjustments, and maintain all equipment to meet Safety and Quality requirements.
- Perform process set-up of molding machines to the predefined condition and ensure that the machines are operating under validated operating parameters.
- Maintain the optimal flow of produced products in production.
- Work closely with QC to resolve any non-conforming product challenges through effective communication.
- Ensure that all process parameters are within the predefined process window daily.
- Report changing status of cycle times to scheduling.
- Clean and set up auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping of machines and work area.
- Consult and work with team supervisor on all technical issues.
- Notify persons in charge of any non-standard or sub-performance operation or mold issues and quality and safety issues.
- Ensure safety adherence.
- Ensure that established policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are understood and followed.
- Participate in all training programs.
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Process Technician preferred.
- Train machine operators on the necessities of their current molding operation.
- Possess proper purging methods for material changes.
- Possess processing skills to achieve quality parts, optimized cycle times and scrap minimization.
- Injection Molding processing experience on presses.
- Possess experience with Paulson Training or RJG processing methods.
- Possess experience working with a variety of mold machines.
- Possess experience working with a variety of robots for injection molding machines.
- Possess experience working with a variety of different mold concepts (cold and hot runner systems, multi plate molds, hyd. cores, slides, valve gates, etc.).
- Possess experienced knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice within the Medical or Food Industry.
- Possess experience working with Decoupled Molding and an understanding of Scientific Injection Molding (SIM).
- Possess experience working in a fast-paced operational environment with constant interaction with operators, technicians, peers, and managers.
- Possess experience in problem solving and troubleshooting of processes and process equipment secondary operation.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
- Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to read applicable instructions.
