Responsibilities
- Assist in plant production and quality assurance while maintaining processes and maximizing machine performance, safety, and quality.
- Perform efficient mold/machine set-ups and optimize the use of automation.
- Assist in mold changeovers and preventative maintenance as required.
- Conduct mold/machine/material testing as needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Provide ongoing technical support to plant operations to ensure safety, productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
- Support Plant Earnings Improvement Programs (EIPs).
- Complete machine start-ups following mold changes, including submitting start-up parts to QC for inspection.
- Adjust processes as required to maintain dimensions to specifications.
- Maintain process documentation.
- Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and material specifications.
- Evaluate design proposals and implementation.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of the molding process, molding equipment, molding materials, and mold tooling.
- Ability to react to situations in a timely manner and be flexible with people and operational assets.
- Troubleshoot operating and related process equipment and recommend solutions; good problem-solving and reasoning skills.
- Ability to read mold prints.
- Creative, organized self-starter who can work with little or no supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a cooperative environment.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and good manufacturing practices.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate.
