About the role
To support, troubleshoot, set-up, process, and repair molding equipment and tooling to ensure manufacturing meets all customer schedules.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve prepared molds and install into molding presses.
- Secure mold to platen and set up appropriate mold heating and cooling.
- Proficiently start up molds using decoupled/scientific molding practices.
- Inspect sample parts for surface and dimensional defects.
- Accurately document process parameters.
- Remove molds from the press and stage for disassembly.
- Troubleshoot and correct process problems at the press.
- Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
- Successfully complete job-specific RCRA/DOT hazardous waste training, as required.
- Willingness to support other operations or departments as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Good communication, reading, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as with others.
- Must be comfortable wearing a bump cap, thermal sleeves, flame-resistant jacket, and standard PPE.
Physical Requirements
- Must be comfortable working around hot molds/ovens.
- Must be comfortable handling hot parts.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly through the day.
- Frequent carrying of items up to 35 pounds.
- Gripping repeatedly with good physical dexterity.
- Constant walking and standing for a 12-hour shift.
- Reaching, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, and climbing stairs.
- Must be able to distinguish colors and shades, and have depth perception.
Schedule
4 days on, 4 days off (12-hour shift).
