Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Engineering (floor support)
- Is readily available to the team to support in job setup and work balancing
- Develops equipment specifications, working with suppliers and maintenance
- Ensures product compliance
- Ensures process stability
- Ensures accuracy of standardized work and relevant work instructions
- Participates in best practice groups, owning consistency internal and external to the plant
- Supports the team in problem solving activities, Technical expertise
- Introduces and investigates suggestions of new technologies
- Participates in layered audits
- Is accountable for meeting or exceeding business targets
- Is accountable for the process design and verification in their area of responsibility
- Visible leadership and personal communication
- Process improvement (drive CI activities)
- Tactical includes spending time on the floor (e.g., layered audits, updates and participation to problem solving, safety walks, etc.) and meetings on critical areas
- Strategic includes budgeting and production planning
- Assures processes are capable of meeting business metrics
- Is responsible for deployment of new product planning
Skills
- Broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience
- Previous Experience: Required degree in Engineering, Preferred degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- 0-2 years of professional experience required, 3+ years of experience a plus
- Specialty skills preferred: Six Sigma Yellow Belt, a plus
- PREFERRED experience using software to analyze data, Power BI, Excel, Minitab, etc.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills desired, an ability to communicate to Machine owners/Operators and a global team
Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or industrial engineering is preferred.
