About the role
Provide process support for manufacturing in an assigned area or areas within a facility. Responsibilities include problem solving and special expertise in technical areas relating to any specific manufacturing process or multiple processes. This individual will work directly with operators, supervisors, and plant leadership to assist. Assignments can be broad and require considerable judgment, ingenuity, and mechanical aptitude. Typically, this position requires 80% or more of duties to be on the production floor (non-office environment).
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on training for operators new to the company or those newly assigned.
- Provide hands-on assistance in troubleshooting and eliminating process issues.
- Support day-to-day operations with hands-on assistance.
- Assist in cost reduction efforts, such as dimensional control and manufacturing methods.
- Support Southwire’s Culture of Zero by demonstrating safe and quality-conscious work habits.
- Assist leadership in identifying training needs of individuals in the assigned area.
- Actively participate in the DHP process and conduct huddles as needed.
- Coordinate with support staff to resolve problems.
- Develop and demonstrate the ability to use lean tools from the Southwire Toolkit.
- Participate in Lean activities, such as Kaizen events, Problem Solving events, SMED, and VSM.
- Learn new skills and adapt to change quickly.
- Be flexible and willing to accept responsibilities outside the traditional scope.
- Perform any other activities as directed by Plant Leadership.
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts.
Requirements
- Preferred 3+ years of experience and working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP or Advaris is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of mechanical aptitude.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, along with outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Clear understanding of OPS and the DHP principles and applications.

Pay
$30.89 – $31.93 per hour.
Schedule
7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Location: El Paso, TX.
