This position may be assigned to either the Family Support Division or the Criminal Division. The ideal candidate is a dependable and professional individual who will support the Office by serving legal documents, including child support enforcement notices, criminal subpoenas, and civil process, in accordance with Nevada law and established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Locates and serves subpoenas and civil processes to individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
- Performs investigative duties, such as locating defendants or witnesses, requesting information, and other routine investigative activities under close supervision.
- Drives a personal or county motor vehicle in the course of work.
- Maintains accurate, detailed service records and ensures timely completion of assignments.
- Exercises sound judgment, works independently with minimal supervision, and interacts professionally with the public, law enforcement, attorneys, and court personnel while handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit by offering suggestions and participating as an active member of a work team.
Requirements
- Equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year of full-time experience in public safety, security, or working in a legal setting. Experience in law enforcement is desirable.
- Professional-level experience and/or education that has provided the necessary skills may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver’s License at time of appointment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers).
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation, physical examination, and pre-employment drug test.
Physical Demands
- Mobility to work in a typical public safety setting, including stamina to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Vision to use standard office equipment and read printed materials, including a computer screen.
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
