Process Safety Management Engineer

About the role

The Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining PSM systems to ensure safety compliance and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support all 14 PSM elements
• Facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and risk assessments
• Coordinate incident investigations
• Develop and deliver safety training programs
• Monitor safety metrics and prepare reports
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to enhance process safety performance
• Support regional PSM initiatives
• Provide technical field support

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science or technical field (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred)
• 2+ years of PSM system experience
• Detailed knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119
• Proficiency with PHA software and MS Office
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• PHA Lead certification
• Experience in chemical manufacturing sectors
