Primary Responsibilities
- Facilitate movement of materials into and out of the Met Lab
- Manage disposition of non-conforming material, including repair, inspection, and release to production
- Lead internal quality audits for existing and new production processes
- Conduct root cause analysis on non-conforming products and implement corrective actions
- Recommend and lead process improvement initiatives based on data and quality findings
- Monitor daily production activity and engage with technicians to improve process health and quality outcomes
- Document and standardize process improvements to ensure consistency and compliance
- Prepare samples and perform metrology and laboratory testing (mechanical, dimensional, magnetic)
- Operate specialized equipment (e.g., hardness, tensile, resistivity testing, CMM as needed)
- Collect, record, and analyze test data for product evaluation
- Prepare customer-required dimensional reports in compliance with AS9100 or similar standards
- Support product development efforts related to measurement methods and dimensional requirements
- Participate in site-wide improvement initiatives and special projects
Additional Requirements
- High School diploma required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quality, manufacturing, or laboratory environments
- Experience with metrology and laboratory equipment (CMM preferred)
- Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze complex and unique production issues
- Able to lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
- Able to perform complex technical assignments with minimal supervision
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and supporting environmental initiatives
- Anticipates customer needs and drives proactive quality improvements
- Builds strong relationships between Quality and Production teams
