About the Role

This role provides repair and/or engineering process support in accordance with documented procedures and practices. The position is responsible for the development, implementation, improvement, and continuous reinforcement of established Quality Assurance fundamental practices utilized in the local business.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure 100 percent quality and regulatory compliance in accordance with documented procedures for all aspects of functional responsibility.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve process effectiveness and efficiency at the site.
  • Create process improvement plans using Quality and Continuous Process Improvement tools, including Six Sigma, LEAN Manufacturing, 5S, SPC, 8D, engineering studies, Gauge R&R, etc.
  • Ensure process efficiency and compliance effectiveness through the development and implementation of process verification and validation plans, including Master Router Plans (Site Level), Validation Router Plans (Product or Process specific plans), and detailed process flow diagrams describing critical process interdependencies.
  • Support continuous product and process improvement through detailed failure analysis for non-conformance, and investigate, develop, and implement compliant solutions for corrections, retrospective and remediation action plans, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA Program).
  • Develop risk management tools and aids (e.g., PFMEA, DFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Mode Analysis) for use by the organization, support design mitigation efforts, and create process mitigation plans.
  • Ensure process compliance through the development of comprehensive procedures, work instructions, flowcharts, forms, templates, checklists, and other product and process-related documentation.
  • Perform a broad variety of tasks in support of product and process design as assigned by the departmental manager.
  • Provide process support in accordance with documented global and local QMS procedures and practices, develop the site CAPA program strategy, and improve QA practices.
  • Work may involve CAPA, QMS processes, root cause analysis (RCA), design transfer, manufacturing, distribution, and service.

Requirements

  • Engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in Quality).
  • 1-3 additional years of experience in QA Engineering.

Skills

  • Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering experience in the Aerospace or Aviation industry, or experience in design/manufacturing engineering in Aerospace, Aviation, or Oil and Gas.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System tools and continuous improvement methodologies, with an in-depth understanding of site-level products and related processes.
  • Expertise in communicating concepts of Repair/services controls, verification and validation activities, production and process controls, CAPA, complaints and risk management, and product quality improvement using tools like Six Sigma and DFR.
  • Strong collaboration and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and implement strategies under crisis situations to ensure compliance.
  • Understanding of product development lifecycles, design change and document change control, process verification and validation, manufacturing/production process control methodologies, and servicing in a regulated environment.
  • Proficiency with continuous quality/process improvement tools (e.g., DMAIC, SPC, Lean Six Sigma, 5S, 8D).
  • Experience leading and implementing change, performing internal and external audits, and managing project teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including reading and comprehending technical documentation and executing procedures.
  • Global regulatory experience and demonstrated experience interfacing with regulators.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database).

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $82,000.00 - $136,700.00 USD annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. A geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary may apply in certain areas.
