The Role

The Process Plant Technician operates the SX/EW plant and tank house. Key responsibilities include:

• Participate in daily start of shift safety meetings.
• Perform daily workplace safety inspections of SX/EW.
• Collect and process copper, acid, nitrate assays as outlined in operator job responsibilities.
• Identify and generate work orders on safety, production, and maintenance needs or improvements.
• Maintain data entry into computer systems and detailed logbooks.
• Facilitate off-loading of various product trucks into holding tanks.
• Coordinate with shift supervisors to maintain plant parameters and operating procedures.
• Can assess and make adjustments as needed.
• Conduct daily circuit audits.
• Pond level monitoring and adjustment.
• Collect composite samples throughout SX plant and ponds daily.
• Deliver collected samples to labs.
• Collect can samples daily.
• Deliver collected samples to labs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, uncluttered work area.
• Clean up work place every shift.

What You’ll Do

Desired Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A current valid driver license with a clean driving record.
• The ability to maintain a positive, safe, team-oriented attitude.
• A productive work ethic.
• Good communication skills and the ability to understand received communication.
• To obtain and apply knowledge of SX/EW operation parameters and operating procedures through training, operator's manuals, work experience, and mentoring from co-workers and supervisor.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Basic math skills.

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

• Required to work a 7-day on, 7-day off work schedule.
• Work shifts may be 12 hours or longer if needed.
• May be required to work outside in adverse weather conditions at times.
• Work involves around hazardous materials, including sulfuric acid, kerosene, NG/LNG, and other chemicals.
• Will require daily inspections of work areas and performing safety walk-through evaluations, which may involve walking, climbing stairs, lifting, and bending.
• May be required to perform heavy lifting of 75 lbs or more at times.
• Must be available to work night shifts, day shifts, weekends, holidays, extended hours, overtime, and be available to be called out for shift coverage as needed.
