Process Operator I - Rhome

About the role

A‑Gas in Rhome, TX is hiring a full‑time Operations Technician to support cutting‑edge refrigerant processing operations. The technician will inspect equipment, configure distillation columns, set up processes, execute transfers and bulk‑tank moves, perform teardowns, and complete safety checks and PMS/LOTO procedures while logging results in Excel and reporting anomalies.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and configure distillation columns at the start of each shift.
• Set up process runs and execute transfers and bulk‑tank moves.
• Perform equipment teardowns and conduct safety checks.
• Carry out PMS (Preventive Maintenance) and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures.
• Log results in Excel and report any anomalies.
• Maintain a safer, cleaner, and more productive plant environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain HazMat Certification and EPA 608 certification.
• Experience in manufacturing, chemicals industry, or production processes.
• Experience with pumps, hoses, compressors, PMS, and Lockout/Tagout.
• Excellent math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel and Word.
• At least two years of chemical process experience or an Associate’s degree (preferred).

Pay

Starting wage of $26 per hour, with increases based on experience.

Schedule

• Full‑time position with 12‑hour shifts (7:30 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM).
• Rotating schedule: 4 days on / 3 days off, then 3 days on / 4 days off.
• Quarterly rotation between day and night shifts.
