Responsibilities
- Serve as the site subject matter expert in mineral processing and operational best practices.
- Maintain a strong field presence to ensure consistent application of operating systems, procedures, controls, and risk-management practices.
- Lead and manage processing operations to maximize production efficiency, safety performance, and cost effectiveness.
- Develop and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports aligned with operational goals and budget expectations.
- Identify and recommend short- and long-term improvement initiatives to enhance processing efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Drive continuous improvement by optimizing processes, systems, and equipment performance.
- Coordinate short- and long-term maintenance planning with production requirements, including scheduled downtime activities.
- Utilize SAP and Microsoft Office tools to support operational reporting, analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Perform additional duties as required to support site operations and overall business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline strongly preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and demonstrated relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining or precious metals processing industry.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in heap-leach gold processing, including oversight of:
- Leach pads
- Carbon-in-Column (CIC) circuits
- ADR (Adsorption, Desorption, Recovery) plant
- Metallurgical and assay laboratories
- Refinery operations and gold recoveries
- Proven experience in production forecasting and process modeling.
- Demonstrated success in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong financial and budget-management capabilities, including cost control and production optimization.
- Proven ability to lead safe operations within a heap-leach processing facility.
Skills
- Intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Experience with SAP.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly present technical and operational information.
- High level of accountability, integrity, and commitment to operational excellence.
- In-depth knowledge of mining safety, health, and environmental regulations, with a strong commitment to maintaining a robust safety culture.
- Familiarity with crushing and agglomeration preferred but not required.
Pay
The annual pay range for this position starts at $155,000.00 - $206,000.00 based on experience.
