Process Improvement Leader
About the role
INEOS is a global manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, and oil products, comprising 15 businesses with a major chemical company heritage. INEOS Oxide is one of the world’s leading producers of Ethylene Oxide (EO) and Ethylene Oxide Derivatives (EODs). We are seeking a technical team lead responsible for process optimization, process design, process control, and improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical team to improve safety, operability, and variable costs of the unit
- Evaluate energy optimization and efficiencies
- Support growth expectations of the EO&EOD businesses
- Ensure facilities continue to develop in line with current legislation and technological standards
- Act as the lead operations representative safeguarding process safety of the EO&EOD unit
Accountabilities
- Accountability 1: SHE - Comply with Life Saving Rules, demonstrate safety leadership, and support all SHE activities
- Accountability 2: Leadership - Effectively communicate business strategies, lead, coach, develop, and set priorities for the technical team
- Accountability 3: Manufacturing Excellence - Directly manage, coach, develop, and set priorities for direct reports, further develop and optimize the EO & EOD plants
Skills/Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline
- Six to Ten (6-10) years of experience in a chemical or petrochemical engineering and/or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop technical professionals
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Proven capability to lead diverse teams and align stakeholders around shared objectives and strategic priorities
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong operations knowledge, ability to learn and stay abreast of industry changes, and demonstrated experience with process modelling software such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, or equivalent.
Working Conditions
The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including extreme cold and heat, noise, hazards, and atmospheric conditions. The worker must have the ability to see written documents, computer screens, and to adjust focus, as well as perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
