About the role
As an Improve Process Leader, you'll lead process improvement efforts and partner with facility leaders to identify, prioritize, and implement capital and expense projects. You will optimize processes through technology and process projects as well as Most Effective Technology (MET). You will also develop and implement plant-specific technology plans in alignment with the Global Technology Plan, including data collection, gap analysis, idea generation, prioritization, improvement project implementation, and review of results.
Responsibilities
- Optimize processes through technology and process projects as well as Most Effective Technology (MET).
- Lead technology planning and strategy supporting site and global business through Improve Process work stream.
- Develop and Implement Plant Specific Technology Plans in alignment with the Global Technology Plan including data collection, gap analysis, idea generation, prioritization, improvement project implementation, and review of results.
- Leverage global resources to implement Technology plan.
- Monitor and measure implementation of the technology plans at the site.
- Provide input for improvement of work practices and priorities using plant and improvement project data.
- Interface with the business and participate in business plan technology development.
- Work with the center of excellence to set priorities for MET definition needs.
- Coach and direct on goals and plans for Improvement Engineers.
- Serve as a technology and data-driven change agent.
- Accountable for the safety, productivity, quality and overall effectiveness of the maintenance and reliability workforce.
- Create an environment that allows team and individual empowerment to grow and flourish.
- Models expected behaviors for an empowered organization.
- Ensure the maintenance and reliability discipline and standards are in place to produce quality products and meet customer needs.
- Lead plant personnel on role expectations, compensation and personal development.
- Champion use of Management of Change (MOC) process for changes, modifications, deletions to equipment, materials, parts, and related maintenance and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- 5+ years experience as an engineer within a chemical plant.
- 3+ years leadership experience through leading/managing cross-functional teams.
- Proven record of leveraging technology and process optimization.
- Experience communicating a Vision for establishing and maximizing value from process optimization.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and goals.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels and departments at the site.
- Strong planning, organization, and presentation skills.
- Strong influencing ability.
- Self-Driven and goal-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Completion of a leadership development program.
- Project implementation and management experience.
- PMP certification.
