Process Improvement Engineer – Production & Maintenance

Specific Duties

  • Solve problems while maximizing safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Review operations of manual, robotic, and automated equipment/systems to troubleshoot failures.
  • Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Cookware bonding, engineering, and assembly in America, in Canonsburg PA.
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to identify manufacturing best practices.
  • Generate reports for analyzing key metrics like OEE, labor productivity, PM completion rates, and machine downtime.
  • Support and lead Continuous Improvement projects and activities such as Kaizen events, Lean activities, 5S, process documentation, and training.
  • Maintain, adjust, and improve tools and standard operating procedures within assigned production departments.
  • Participate in safety culture programs.
  • Investigate new methods, processes, tooling, and automation to increase safety, improve quality, increase efficiency, reduce changeover times, and reduce consumables costs.
  • Work with R&D for the trial and implementation of new products.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering for the research, design, layout, installation, and implementation of new production equipment and processes.
  • Work with outside suppliers to investigate new materials and tooling for continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with major in Materials, Metallurgy, or Mechanical preferred.
  • Knowledge of workflows, ergonomics, tooling, and lean manufacturing, either on-the-job or through academic projects.
  • Experience in metal forming, machining, grinding, and/or polishing.
  • Experience in the areas of numerically controlled systems, robotics, and automation.
  • Proficient computer skills with Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Outlook, Access, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, ProE or Solid Edge).
  • Experience with an ERP/MRP system.
  • Experience with CMMS (maintenance work order) software/systems.
  • Able to read schematics, blueprints, and OEM manuals to create accurate work procedures and maintenance routines.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
