Process Engineer II

The Role

This role requires close collaboration with multi-disciplinary project/technical teams as we work together to define the future of biotherapeutics and embrace the challenge of innovation.

Under direct/moderate supervision, job responsibilities encompass the transfer of novel purification processes from model to manufacturing scale. Process engineers will work closely with scientists and engineers to develop manufacturing processes for novel biotherapeutics. The PE II will then execute upstream and/or downstream manufacturing operations they had a hand in building.

• Upstream Manufacturing Operations:
• Perform aseptic operations
• Shake flask cell expansion process
• Bioreactor operations
• Media preparation
• Downstream Manufacturing Operations:
• Continuous protein capture
• Chromatography polishing steps
• Drug formulation and fill

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science or engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Candidate must possess strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
• Possess effective task/time management organizational skills.
• Capacity to develop solutions to technical issues of moderate scope.
• Able to organize, analyze/interpret, and effectively communicate individual results.
• Motivated, self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Good interpersonal, team, and communication skills are a must.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of cGMP requirements to ensure compliance.
• Understanding of equipment, operations, and engineering principles used to manufacture biotherapeutics.
• Experience in cell culture principles and aseptic technique.
• Experience in purification principles and operations.
• Experience with disposable-based processing equipment is a plus.
• Experience in technology and/or process transfer for early-stage clinical manufacturing.
• Ability to solve technical problems of moderate scope.

Pay and Benefits

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $86,250 to $90,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value.
