Process Engineer General
Position Description
Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activities for Axle Assembly Drive
Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and improve manufacturing processes
Lead equipment delivery, installation, commissioning, and launch activities
Conduct process audits ensuring compliance with Powertrain Operations guidelines
Perform ergonomic evaluations and implement corrective actions
Analyze carrier inventory root causes, map defects and reduce rejects
Create process sheets and work instructions supporting quality methods
Deliver capable processes and tooling for assembly operations
Lead resolution of machining-related concerns
Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, variability reduction, and best practices
Ensure compliance with Plant, Corporate, Governmental, and Environmental standards
Identify throughput constraints and lead root cause improvements to meet Rate of Climb targets
Required
- 5+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience
- Strong experience with: Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis, Process Validation / Continuous Improvement
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
PREFERRED
- Experience with automotive components (axle, powertrain, etc.)
- Knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, DOE, and capability studies (Gauge R&R)
- Leverage Lean Six Sigma experience
- Project management / equipment launch experience
- Experience with assembly lines and visual factory concepts
- Ergonomic analysis experience
Qualifications
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
