About the role

Provide process engineering expertise in support of optimization, operational, regulatory, and project activities within the Natural Gas Gathering & Processing Facilities. Act as the technical lead for optimization, troubleshooting, and what-if analysis of the facility assets. Perform process-related duties to ensure processing plants and equipment operate efficiently, effectively, and products are within specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: Work with Operations to monitor and recommend adjustments to plant processes.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems to determine causes and solutions.
  • Develop and apply process models to support Commercial requests, operations troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Maintain, update, and calibrate process models to ensure accurate representations of equipment and processes.
  • Assist in the development and review of basic process design specifications in support of projects.
  • Provide preliminary process design specifications for equipment and instrumentation. Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure procured equipment is exemplary for its intended use.
  • Be present at processing facilities and solicit input from Operations to identify issues, maintain high reliability, and increase asset performance. Provide preliminary scoping and development of projects to achieve these objectives.
  • Provide ongoing process engineering support for plant growth and technical projects.
  • Perform basic economic evaluations independently. Collaborate with Commercial, Engineering, and Operations personnel to conduct in-depth economic evaluations.
  • Coordinate field studies and implementation of improvements.
  • Provide technical support for process safety management, including:
    • Management of Change (MOC)
    • Sizing, specification, and evaluation of overpressure protection systems
    • Hazard identification and resolution
    • Development and modification of operating procedures
  • Travel to processing facilities as needed (~25% anticipated).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; BS in Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • Seven or more years of experience in engineering, operations, and/or project management.
  • Experience with hydrocarbon processing and related facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with process modeling software (ProMax preferred).
  • Experience utilizing vendor equipment rating software (e.g., Ariel Performance, Fisher Valve Spec, KG Tower).
  • Experience communicating technical matters with Operations personnel and successfully implementing operational changes.
  • Experience achieving goals and developing employee/team strengths, exhibiting a positive example and influence.
  • Experience in the use and function of applications such as Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word.
  • Experience identifying, researching, understanding, evaluating, and prioritizing operational problems and coordinating appropriate action/response.

Skills

  • Knowledge of plant operations in the midstream industry, including cryogenic gas processing, glycol and molecular sieve dehydration, amine treating, and compression.
  • Understanding of operational functions and commercial relationships with the ability to anticipate functional and transactional impacts.
  • Ability to read and interpret governmental regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, charts, engineering studies, and other relevant reports.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues and/or questions concerning engineering design and calculations, obtaining assistance if needed on more complex tasks.
  • Ability to review complex engineering drawings and materials.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to identify, plan, and organize development of process improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify alternate solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to apply math, algebraic formulas, and statistical methods.
  • Ability to interact, negotiate, advise, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to operate office tools and equipment required.
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, information, messages, and other written material, which may contain technical content, in a logical, organized, and coherent manner.

Pay

Expected Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $136,000.00
