About the role

This hybrid role is based out of our corporate headquarters in Lakeville, MA with Mondays and Fridays remote. The Process Engineer is responsible for development, scale-up, and qualification of equipment and processes to support global base business, innovation, and manufacturing optimization initiatives. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve business and technical objectives, communicates results, aligns key stakeholders, interfaces with external vendors, and provides technical leadership to Ocean Spray and partner manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute process engineering expertise to cross-functional teams to inform successful design, scale-up, and qualification of new products and processes.
  • Lead technical assessment, validation, and commissioning of processes at Ocean Spray and partner manufacturing facilities, collaborating with R&D functional peers to meet technical and business objectives.
  • Identify, validate, and implement modifications to processes to improve yields, throughput of batching and thermal processing, utility savings, process control, and other relevant operational targets.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques in the analysis of existing operational areas—from raw materials to finished packages—to troubleshoot process-related production challenges and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead design, development, and execution of experiments in the pilot plant and with strategic vendor partners to inform process scale-up, troubleshooting, research, and new technology exploration.
  • Develop and implement process specifications, standards, and best practices in collaboration with operations and cross-functional subject matter experts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, self-starter able to effectively manage multiple projects.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and willingness to lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and MS Project.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data analysis and visualization in Python or similar tools.

Pay

Annual salary range: $72,200 – $90,300. The base salary range serves as a guideline; actual offers may vary based on skills, experience, external and internal benchmarks, and company considerations. Certain positions may be eligible for short-term and long-term incentive rewards.
