About the role
The Process Engineer is responsible for direct support of various manufacturing processes in the Carrollton Cable facility.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting process related problems
- Development of new products and processes
- Design tooling, machines and components to improve existing processes
- Improve processes by performing trials and creating operating guidelines to document changes
- Supporting introductions of new materials
- Provide technical support to different departments
- Create specifications for new equipment and involvement in layout and commissioning of equipment and materials
- Interaction with sister cable facilities around the world
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, industrial, chemical, aerospace, civil, materials, others) or Physics
- Less than 1 year of experience
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with plastics extrusion
- Manufacturing experience
- Six-sigma and Lean experience
- Accomplishments such as scrap reduction, throughput improvements, project management, Six-Sigma projects, Lean support and process stabilization
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Root cause analysis
- Improving process yields, through-put, flexibility, productivity and capacity
- Lean manufacturing general concept
- Designing, specifying and commissioning tools, equipment, tests and methods
- Presentation skills and public speaking
Process control of manufacturing lines, including the inputs such as materials, equipment, method and the training of people for safe and high yields operation while meeting design parameters of the product.
