This role involves performing design, detailing, and analysis under the supervision of an Administrator or Project Personnel. Haskell is seeking a Designer with experience in Plant3D and Revit.

Responsibilities

  • Application of Knowledge of Process Systems:
    • Creates 2D and 3D technical drawings and models using computer-aided design (CAD) systems, such as AutoCAD and Revit, based on designs provided by engineering disciplines.
    • Effectively applies discipline design and detailing fundamentals in developing designs.
    • Produces well-organized, finished drawings of good appearance, accuracy, clarity, and correctness from layouts, sketches, verbal, and/or written instructions, adhering to team and discipline standards.
    • Checks own work carefully to minimize deficiencies, errors, and omissions.
    • Works with the Engineering department to coordinate and understand process design.
    • Assists with production of specifications and other standards required in the design process.
    • Performs analysis or calculations as assigned.
  • Construction Support:
    • Subject to final approval, checks shop drawings and submittals data for conformance with contract documents.
    • Advises and assists construction personnel in the interpretation and clarification of construction documents as directed, providing timely solutions to field problems, preparing field orders, addenda, and record drawings.
    • Field assignments may include assisting in site surveys, final design, and as-builts.
  • Planning, Scheduling, and Profitability:
    • Assists by providing required information on a timely basis and keeps supervisor apprised of progress.
    • Maintains an orderly work file, prepares clear, well-written memos/correspondence, and ensures good communication of status with disciplines.
    • Assists with drawing planning, management, and adherence to schedule.
    • Designs projects within the provided design budget and tracks additional hours utilized, including when scope is expanded.
  • Project Management:
    • Coordinates work with other disciplines regarding dimensions and interference to minimize deficiencies, errors, and omissions.
  • Professional Development:
    • Participates in professional community organizations and trade organizations within the discipline.
  • Leadership:
    • Adheres to established company standards and policies.
    • Trains both formally and informally Designers within the specific discipline.
    • Travel as required.
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of experience in design and drafting software.

Qualifications

  • Desirable experience in applicable design work.
  • Proficient in the use of current technology in the discipline.
  • Experience in several CAD programs, specifically AutoCAD Plant 3D.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, this position requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information.
  • The associate is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
