Process Designer
About the role
Koch-Glitsch is seeking an experienced Process Designer at our Uxbridge, ON location to provide technical support by developing innovative solutions for Mass Transfer equipment, including trayed and packed tower applications. This role supports a broad range of industries including refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, biofuels, gas processing, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and environmental.
The role is part of our commercial team and requires close collaboration with sales, engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure solutions are delivered on time and offer maximum value to the customer.
Responsibilities
- Determine and anticipate customer expectations to provide value-based, technical solutions.
- Coordinate with multiple Koch Engineered Solutions businesses to find creative solutions that best meet customer needs.
- Lead the quoting effort for assigned opportunities, working directly with customers, sales teams, estimators, equipment engineering, purchasing, project management, and manufacturing.
- Own all processes related to customer technical specifications from launch to completion, including hydraulic calculations, simulations, and new arrangements compatible with customer specifications.
- Interact with customers to refine proposed solutions as needs evolve.
- Work with the equipment execution team to ensure equipment is built in compliance with customer specifications and expectations.
- Develop tools and resources to improve knowledge sharing and efficiency within the process engineering team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Engineering, manufacturing, or plant operations experience.
Qualifications
What will put you ahead:
- Experience working with Mass Transfer Technology equipment.
- Previous process plant engineering experience.
- Experience developing and writing technical proposals.
- Experience collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to develop technical solutions.
- Experience with process simulation using commercial software (Pro II, Aspen, etc.).
This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
Pay
For this role, we anticipate paying $75,000 - $110,000 CAD per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
