About the role

North American Sortation Center (NASC) Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Operations Engineer to support Process Design Engineering initiatives, developing and delivering next-generation, world-class sortation and transportation systems. This position will impact both design and process design engineering for the NASC.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. You will work on a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch projects, owning Process Designs end-to-end. The team works on hundreds of projects each year in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment, offering high-impact, high-visibility opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.
  • Execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions with strong communication skills.
  • Travel up to 50% to visit sites and support projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level.
  • Experience working with and managing third-party vendors.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing.
  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems, and high-speed manufacturing.
  • Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field (preferred).

Pay

  • USA, GA, Atlanta: $76,600.00 - $114,900.00 USD annually
  • USA, IL, Chicago: $76,600.00 - $114,900.00 USD annually
  • USA, TN, Nashville: $68,900.00 - $103,400.00 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Irving: $76,600.00 - $114,900.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $76,600.00 - $114,900.00 USD annually
