Process Control Engineer

Job Summary

This position will provide total support for all operational control technologies used for plant process controls.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Install electrical hardware or software or the electrical wiring of selected devices in accordance with state and local codes.
• Generate new or modify existing operating instructions as it pertains to electrical items during the start-up of new, used or modified equipment.
• Aid and assist in the layout design of construction and troubleshooting of electrical components.
• Program and install PLCs and draw ladder logic diagrams to match such.
• Procure and supervise sub-contractors hired to help in the construction of electrical items such as conduit or other electrical service.
• Develop and institute a program to ensure that electrical schematics and drawings are kept up to date and current.
• Maintain support for all current operating control technology and be available for potential "service" type issues.
• Develop and maintain an archive system for all written and future control programming, organized by plant, type and date.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5 years proven experience in Control and Automation field required.
• Demonstrable experience in industrial environments.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Rockwell Automation PLC/SCADA experience a must.
• Pax System Experience a must.
• Work well with others in a team-based environment.
• Communicate clearly both verbally or in writing; excellent analytical skills.
• Lead personnel; requires minimum supervision; makes timely, accurate judgments regarding production and process quality.
• Highly organized; superior time management skills.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 100 lbs.
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.

Job Functions

• Carried out in a plant environment which requires tolerance for high heat and/or cold temperatures as well as an office environment.
• Requires up to 40% travel, with potential weekend and holiday work.
