Control Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support installation, commissioning, and startup activities for facility and utility control systems and related equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, instrumentation, and automated control systems
• Read, modify, and maintain PLC and HMI programs to support system performance and operational reliability
• Support Siemens PLC systems and related automation infrastructure for facility and utility operations
• Conduct system testing, IO checks, and validation activities to ensure proper operation of automated systems
• Review facility PLC systems and P&IDs to assist in identifying improvement opportunities
• Absorb and implement control system improvements to support reliability and energy efficiency initiatives
• Troubleshoot electrical and control systems using electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities for facility automation systems
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to resolve control-related issues
• Analyze equipment downtime, system alarms, and operational trends to support performance improvements
• Maintain accurate documentation related to PLC programs, system configurations, and troubleshooting activities
• Support implementation of automation upgrades and facility improvement projects
• Follow established work instructions, safety procedures, and company policies at all times
• Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience 3-5 years of experience in industrial controls, automation, PLC programming, or related manufacturing engineering environment required
• Experience working with Siemens PLC systems preferred
• Experience supporting facility or utility systems including HVAC, boilers, electrical distribution, water systems, or related infrastructure preferred
• Experience troubleshooting industrial automation systems in a manufacturing environment required
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, control drawings, and P&IDs required
• Experience supporting installation, startup, or maintenance of automated systems preferred
