About the role

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) powers Oracle’s global cloud services through highly available, large-scale, enterprise-grade data center environments. The Data Center Infrastructure Operations / Facilities team plays a critical role in sustaining OCI’s performance, security, and operational resilience by ensuring infrastructure systems operate reliably at scale. You will join a technically rigorous organization with a culture grounded in operational excellence, disciplined processes, and continuous improvement, where infrastructure reliability, safety, and execution quality are foundational to delivering cloud services worldwide.

As a Process Architect (Technical Writer), you will lead the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of operational processes that support Oracle’s global data center facilities. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, and compliance teams to develop clear, scalable, and auditable procedures that enable safe, reliable, and repeatable execution across hyperscale environments. You will work directly with building management systems (BMS), power and cooling infrastructure, and automation platforms to ensure all standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and standards meet rigorous requirements for security, compliance, sustainability, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Design and document end-to-end operational processes for mission-critical data center operations across electrical, mechanical, environmental, security, and compliance domains.
  • Translate complex technical and operational workflows into clear, accurate, and actionable documentation for a globally distributed operations workforce.
  • Author and maintain high-quality SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, emergency response procedures, and engineering standards, ensuring consistency, usability, and technical accuracy.
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with applicable industry standards and frameworks, including ITIL, ISO 27001 / 14001, ASHRAE, NFPA, and Uptime Institute Tier guidelines, as well as Oracle internal security and compliance requirements.
  • Manage document lifecycle activities, including version control, change tracking, peer review coordination, and audit readiness, supporting internal and external compliance needs.
  • Collaborate with automation, IT, and facilities engineering teams to integrate operational documentation into Oracle’s digital knowledge and workflow platforms.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying process gaps, incorporating operational feedback and incident learnings, and updating documentation to support safer, more reliable execution.
  • Define system specifications needed to roll out flexible business models.
  • Understand business objectives and perform process or functional analysis to identify gaps compared to specifications.
  • Confer and/or drive issues with management for resolution, ensuring overall fulfillment of business specifications.
  • Engage daily with business and/or process subject matter experts.
  • Advise and consult with business teams on prioritizing resource allocation, addressing project team problems, and ensuring deliverables are met.
  • Develop and present proposals for project plans, securing agreement from appropriate stakeholders.
  • Understand and apply relevant theories to policies and operating environments to complete assignments effectively and efficiently.

Skills

  • Exceptional technical writing and information architecture skills, with the ability to synthesize complex operational and technical workflows into clear, compliant, and globally accessible documentation.
  • Strong change-management and stakeholder-engagement capability, translating operational objectives and risk considerations into structured, measurable, and adoptable standards.
  • Solid project execution and organizational skills, including experience managing documentation initiatives across multiple workstreams, priorities, and stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with digital documentation and process tools, such as Confluence, SharePoint, Visio, and BPM or workflow platforms.
  • Experience supporting knowledge transfer through process walkthroughs, documentation reviews, and technical training sessions for geographically distributed teams.

Qualifications

Certain U.S. based or U.S. customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization/occupational health mandates, and/or drug testing requirements.

Pay

Hiring range in USD from: $91,400 - $187,000 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
